3RD MARCH 2014
Welcome back to the second half of the Spring Term – we hope you enjoyed your week off! May we also say welcome to the new parents and children who have joined us recently – we hope your time with us is enjoyable & that children (and parents) settle quickly and happily!
Below are the themes and examples of activities we will be covering this half term. If you feel you could help in any way, or have something relating to the topic that would be of interest to us all, then please speak to a member of staff, or send items in with your child so we can use them for ‘discussion time’.
Lastly, if you have any problems or concerns, then do not hesitate to speak to myself or one of the other Aunties during the morning. Alternatively, you are always welcome to ring me out of Pg hours on 07521820232.
March 3rd – 7th – All About ‘Me’ – This week the children will be thinking about ‘themselves’. Co-operating to make a Height Chart, sponge painting pictures of themselves & doing a cut n’stick of their favourite toys. We will also be making daffodils to celebrate a belated St David’s Day!
March 10th – 14th – Continuing the ‘Me’ Theme – The children will be making some ‘paper plate faces’, making a hand print flower picture, decorating a hand print mask and making a ‘Family Tree’.
March 17th – 21st – This week we will be working together to create a new Foot Print Frieze for the outer board. We will be baking ‘People Biscuits’ & using musical instruments & magnetic letters to look at our individual names. The children will also be decorating their names and creating an ‘under water’ hand print picture.
March 24th – 28th Spring/Easter – We will spend the last 3 weeks of term concentrating on Spring themed activities. This week the children will be gluing ‘woolly lambs’, painting rabbits, and taking part in Spring Printing. They will also be painting ‘Bunny Ears’, and making Mother’s Day Cards on Friday (but that’s a secret so shhh)!!
March 31st – 4th – Continuing the Spring Theme, this week the children will be decorating ‘Spring Baskets’, cutting and sticking ‘Spring Flowers’, and cutting and sticking ‘paper plate bunnies’. There will also be Easter chicks to be collaged and chocolate Rice Crispy Cakes to be made.
April 7th – 11th – During this last week we will be painting egg cups, decorating Spring Themed Sun Catchers & Candles & making Easter Cards. On the last day of Term the children will be taking part in an Easter Egg Hunt…. In the Play Area if the weather is fine or in the Hall if it is wet! Regardless of weather conditions, we are hoping that the Easter Bunny will be putting in an appearance – fingers crossed anyway!!!
HAPPY EASTER TO YOU ALL
WE RETURN TO PLAYGROUP ON MONDAY 28TH APRIL
